Navigation
Please do not rely upon GPS digital navigation systems to find your way to Craters of the Moon. Please note that the Robert Limbert Visitor Center at 1266 Craters Loop Road is located just off U.S. Highway 20/26/93 and is not accessed via any unpaved roads.
Entrance Fees
Credit cards are the only form of payment accepted at the automated fee machine and the entrance booth. If you would prefer to pay with cash, please first stop by the visitor center to obtain an entrance voucher for cash payment.
While the Craters of the Moon annual pass can be purchased at the entrance booth, the park also accepts the America the Beautiful passes and 4th grade pass.

Lava Flow Campground
The Lava Flow Campground is a 42-site campground accessible by automobile from May through November depending on snow conditions. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Some sites will accommodate large RVs, but no hookups are available.

Climb a short but very steep trail to the top of a volcanic cone for awe-inspiring views.

See the night sky like never before! The natural darkness of Craters of the Moon lends to superior stargazing opportunities.
Visit Craters in Winter
Tour a lava wonderland blanketed in snow. Winter visitors can enjoy skiing the groomed park road or venture into the park on snowshoes.
