Overnight Lodging and Stage 4 Water Restrictions take effect Aug. 31
Grand Canyon National Park will implement Stage 4 water restrictions on the South Rim beginning August 31 at noon due to extensive flash flood damage to the Transcanyon Waterline. Overnight accommodations will close, and only dry camping will be permitted. The park will remain open for day use, with food and beverage services, the Grand Canyon Clinic, and Post Office remaining open. Visitors and residents are asked to conserve water.
CLOSED - N. Kaibab Trail, Phantom, and Silver/Black Bridges
The entirety of the North Kaibab Trail, Phantom Ranch, and Silver and Black Bridges are closed until further notice. The NPS is conducting an air evacuation of approximately 50 individuals from the Phantom Ranch area. Xanterra will inform guests with future Phantom Ranch reservations about the status of their reservations. Please do not attempt to access the closed areas.

Entrance Fees
Admission to Grand Canyon National Park is for seven days and includes the South Rim. Please note, the North Rim is closed for the 2025 season due to the Dragon Bravo Fire. No cash is accepted; credit/debit card only. No refunds are given due to inclement weather. Grand Canyon Annual Passes and America the Beautiful passes are available at the South Entrance and Desert View Entrance Stations.

Desert View Campground (Reservations Required)
At the East Entrance, Desert View Campground offers a peaceful setting with 49 campsites. 30 feet (9.1 m) combined total length is the maximum length for RVs or vehicles pulling travel trailers. Campsites are available by reservation only at www.recreation.gov and can be made up to 6 months in advance, Sat. April 11, through the night of Sun. October 18, 2026. Make reservations online or call (877-444-6777). It is possible to make same day call-in and/or online reservations.
Details →Mather Campground - South Rim
Mather Campground is located in Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. There are 327 sites. Each includes a campfire ring/cooking grate, picnic table, parking space and room for up to six people, three tents, and two vehicles. There are flush toilets and drinking water throughout the campground. No hookups are available, however there is a free dump station. Most RV spaces are pull-through.
Details →Trailer Village RV Park - South Rim
Trailer Village is the only in-park RV campground with full hookups (sewage, water, and electrical with 30 amp and 50 amp sites available) Open year-round, Trailer Village features paved pull-through sites which can accommodate vehicles up to 50 feet long. Trailer Village is operated by Delaware North. Reservations can be made up to 13 months in advance. If visiting during the busy season (May through October) making reservations 1 year in advance is recommend. Visit their website to make reservations.

Geology Talk | Ranger Talk | Yavapai Geology Museum (free)
Aug 31, 2026 · Yavapai Point is located on Village Loop Road, in between Market Plaza and the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. From the far end of the Yavapai Point parking lot, by the shuttle bus stop, walk the paved path up the hill on your left to the stone museum building, perched on the edge of the canyon rim.
History Exhibit | South Rim Village | The Amazing Kolb Brothers - Pioneer Photographers - free
Aug 31, 2026 · Kolb Studio is located in the South Rim Village Historic District, on the canyon rim at the head of Bright Angel Trail, and just west of the Bright Angel Lodge cabins. This historic studio is open year-round. It contains an exhibit hall, an information desk, and a Grand Canyon Conservancy Park Store. The store features a tribute to the Kolbs' photographs of mule riders at Grand Canyon. A small exhibit on the top floor tells the Kolb brothers' story, and displays their early black and white phot
Guided Rim Walk | Ranger Program | Bright Angel Trailhead (free)
Aug 31, 2026 · Just up the hill from the Hermit Road interchange shuttle bus stops, and adjacent to the Bright Angel Lodge cabins, a large, 200-foot (60 m) wide by 100-foot (30 m) deep courtyard surrounds the Bright Angel Trailhead along the canyon rim. Sep 2, 2026 · The Grand Canyon Visitor Center theater is located on the east side of the main Visitor Center building. Attendees can park in lots 1, 2, 3, or 4, and follow the paved sidewalks and signs towards the visitor center.

Sep 9, 2026 · Located at the McKee Amphitheater near the Park Headquarters Building. Attendees can park in the Headquarters parking lot. Immediately to the west of the building there is a short walk along a paved trail that leads to the McKee Amphitheater.

Geology Talk Ranger Program - 3:00 pm daily (through May 22, 2026). Gain insight into Grand Canyon’s unique geologic story. Meet in front of Yavapai Geology Museum. Program duration: 30 minutes. Learn how this immense canyon formed and the science behind the landscape. Knowing some of the stories encoded in the rock layers will enrich your understanding and enhance your experience at Grand Canyon.
History Exhibit - The Amazing Kolb Brothers
See the Amazing Kolb Brothers; A Grand Life at Grand Canyon Exhibit - at Kolb Studio, house-turned-museum perched perilously on the precipice in Historic Grand Canyon Village. Examine their antique cameras, study paintings by plein-air artists through the decades, and watch the motion picture of their 1912 trip down the Colorado River.
Park Films in the South Rim Visitor Center Theater
Park Films Are Shown Daily in the Visitor Center Theater. ►At the top of the hour, the 24-minute film, ‘We Are Grand Canyon’, welcomes visitors by sharing the heritage and viewpoints of the 11 tribal communities connected to the canyon. ►On the half hour, 'Grand Canyon - a Journey of Wonder', introduces the natural and human history of this special place —along with efforts to preserve and protect Grand Canyon as a sanctuary for plants, animals, and humans.
